Active Schools Week 2015 – Mini Soccer World Cup
As part of Active schools week we organised a mini soccer world cup for pupils from 3rd class to 6th class. It took place in our school field during lunch time and break time. Each match was 10 minutes with 5 minutes aside. Each team had 5 or 6 players (but only 5 could play at a time), consisting of both boys and girls from all four classes.
The matches were refereed by Cillian Larkin, Miss Shanahan, Miss Cosgrove and Miss O’ Gorman.
The winning team was Switzerland with Mexico second and Scotland in third place.
Everyone really enjoyed this and there was great sportsmanship shown throughout the two weeks.
