Active Schools Week 2015

For Active schools week we had a committee of six people from sixth class; Cian, David H, Amy L, Amy M, Katie and Dylan.  The committee along with Miss Shanahan and Miss Cosgrove organised a variety of activities for all classes for active schools week.

On Monday we played Rounder’s, the younger classes played football rounders while the older classes played official GAA rounders.

On Tuesday we used our map reading skills to follow an orienteering course around the school.

On Wednesday we walked to school as a collective group. We also had GAA coaching.

On Thursday morning, Wexford footballer Colm Kehoe came in to talk to fifth and sixth class and show them some county training drills. We also played dodgeball in the afternoon.

On Friday the junior classes played parachute games while the older classes learned to play tag rugby.  The mini world cup soccer final was held on the pitch in the afternoon for all classes to enjoy.  The week ended on a high with a students’ team taking on the teachers in a rounders match, which was one of the highlights of the week!

A big thank you all the teachers, staff and students, especially sixth class, that helped out during the week.
