6th class studies Australia

Over the past few weeks the boys and girls in 6th class have been studying Australia. As well as the physical and human geography of the country, they looked at the Aboriginal history and culture. As part of this they looked at various examples of Aboriginal art and paintings. They then created their own examples of dot art.

They looked at Australian music and song, they can sing ‘Waltzing Matilda’ if you ask them nicely and also give you a tune on the didgeridoo!

We also had an Aussie food tasting session – the vegemite was not a hit with most of the boys and girls. One compared it to drinking a half a bottle of soya sauce! The Tim Tams and cherry ripe went down much better.
