Some pictures of Junior Infants enjoying their last GAA coaching session of the year. All classes from Junior Infants to 4th class really enjoyed this coaching module and look forward to doing it again later in the year.

We got in the Hallowe’en spirit in 2nd class and made green spooky slime using cornflour, water and food colouring. As we are currently learning about procedural writing, we then wrote about how we made it .

On Wednesday 23rd September, 2nd Class went to Wexford Wildfowl Reserve. We all had a great day and got to do some fabulous activities such as nature-hunts, pond dipping and searching for mini-beasts. We learned lots of things about the environment and caught a few interesting insects. Here are some photos of our day .

Using giant polydrons and body parts to make giant circles, squares, rectangles, triangles and even some hexagons!

We learned about animals in autumn as they prepare for hibernation. As part of this, we constructed and painted hedgehogs.

Junior Infants got their special high-visibility jackets last week. They learned about road safety and the importance of wearing these jackets while walking on the roads. They also began to learn the Safe Cross Code song.

We have been learning lots about autumn in Junior Infants. We have gone on a nature walk, collected leaves and seeds, made leaf rubbings and painted some beautiful autumn trees. Junior Infants heard the story of Goldilocks and then sequenced their own story board of the tale. They also worked together to paint giant versions of the story characters to decorate our hallway!
