Trip to the Raven Forest
On Tuesday the 4th of October 5th class went to the Raven Forest in Curracloe. We set off on the bus early in the morning. We were put into groups when we got there. We went to a pond near by and John the instructor gave us a net, container and a list of bugs to look for. One group found a stickleback another group found a Dragonfly nymph and there was also a frogs leg found. When we finished pond dipping we had our lunch, it was then time to look for the land mini beasts. Mary found a mouse and we all ran away screaming. Just as John was talking to us about the Red Squirrel who lives in the forest, Halle looked up and there he was sitting above her in a tree. He was the cause of great excitement as he is rarely spotted. Finally our teacher Ms Moran took us for a walk on the beach before we headed back to school. It was a really nice trip and lots of fun, I hope we go there again sometime soon.
